I am Kian — a storyteller who believes every destination has a story to tell, and that the best ones are found in the quiet corners most travellers overlook.

Through Langkawi Santai, I share my journey of discovering this island one story at a time. This is not a travel guide filled with lists of attractions. It is a collection of stories about the people, places, flavours, traditions, and everyday moments that make Langkawi truly special.

I spend my days exploring cultural landmarks, art galleries, museums, local eateries, hidden beaches, and the pockets of island life that many visitors miss. Every journey reveals something new, and reminds me that the true spirit of a place is found in its stories and the people at the heart of them.

As I wander this island, I am also building a new life here: creating a welcoming guesthouse, baking bread in a wood-fired oven, promoting art tourism, and crafting meaningful experiences for traveler who want more than a postcard.

When I am not exploring Langkawi, you will likely find me daydreaming by the sea, journaling, baking sourdough, or lost in the pages of Robinson Crusoe. I also read works by Dr. Spencer Johnson, Paulo Coelho, and Paul Kalanithi; I make lists; and I chase good light from one beach to the next.
